Tremron Fence Installation: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide

Tremron fence installation in San Antonio typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed, depending on linear footage, existing wall condition, and whether we’re working with Tremron’s StoneWall or StackStone series block. Most Tremron fence failures aren’t the block itself, they’re the footing, the bond beam, or the steel reinforcement behind the face. Homeowners usually notice it as a lean, a horizontal crack following the mortar line, or a section that shifts when pushed.

If you’re reading this because a section of your Tremron fence is leaning toward the neighbor’s yard or a gate post has pulled loose, here’s what we’ve learned after years of San Antonio jobs: the fix is rarely just “slap some mortar in and call it done.” The failure usually starts below grade, and the repair has to start there too.

We’re an independent San Antonio contractor, not a Tremron dealer or affiliate. We work with Tremron block because it’s a well-made concrete masonry unit, and we know which sizes and series interlock correctly. That matters more than people think.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron makes several concrete block lines that end up as fence walls in San Antonio backyards. The two we see most are the StoneWall series (split-face block in 4″, 6″, and 8″ widths) and the StackStone series (the dry-stack look block that locks together without visible mortar joints). There’s also the older Tremron Classic wall block, which shows up on homes built before 2010.

The compatibility gotcha nobody mentions: Tremron block dimensions are nominal, not exact. A “4-inch” StoneWall unit actually measures closer to 3-5/8″ deep, which means you can’t substitute a generic big-box retaining wall block and expect the bond pattern to line up. The face profile won’t match, the corner units won’t turn correctly, and the finished wall will look patched. If you’re matching an existing Tremron fence, we need to see a photo of the block face and measure the actual unit before we order anything.

For replacement parts, OEM Tremron block is the right call when you’re matching an existing wall. For full new fence runs, we sometimes recommend quality aftermarket equivalents from hardscape suppliers around San Antonio, but only when the profile and color match what Tremron currently produces. Tremron’s color blends shift slightly between production runs, so a 2016 “Sierra” blend won’t perfectly match a 2024 “Sierra” blend. We tell homeowners that up front.

Signs Your Tremron Fence Installation Is Failing

Here’s what we see in San Antonio, listed from most obvious to most subtle:

  • Visible lean or tilt. The wall is no longer plumb, usually because the concrete footing was poured too shallow for our expansive clay soil. San Antonio’s gumbo clay expands and contracts with moisture, and a footing poured at 12″ instead of 18-24″ below grade will heave. The wall follows the soil.
  • Horizontal crack along a mortar line. This is a bond beam failure. The bond beam is the reinforced concrete cap poured through the top course of block. When it cracks, the wall loses its lateral strength and sections start acting independently.
  • Gate post movement. A gate post that rubs against the gate or won’t latch anymore means the post footing has shifted. The post is either set too shallow or the concrete around the base has spalled from water intrusion.
  • Efflorescence or spalling on the block face. White chalky deposits mean water is moving through the wall, carrying minerals with it. Over time, the block face starts flaking. It’s more than cosmetic; it means the wall lacks proper drainage gravel behind it or the cap isn’t shedding water.
  • Open joints between block courses. On StackStone series walls, the dry-stack lip is supposed to interlock. If you can fit a screwdriver blade between courses, the wall has lost its interlock, usually from settlement or impact damage.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled laundry and mudroom with a bench, cubbies and painted cabinets

A full Tremron fence installation in San Antonio runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a typical residential run of 30 to 80 linear feet at 6′ height. That includes demo of any failed wall section, new or repaired footing to 18-24″ depth, block, bond beam with steel reinforcement, and cap. Repair work on an existing wall, like resetting a gate post or rebuilding a failed section, runs lower within that range; a complete new fence with corners and a gate lands at the top.

Scope San Antonio Installed Range
Gate post reset (single post) $350 – $800
Sectional repair (10-20 linear feet) $1,200 – $3,000
Full Tremron fence, 30-80 linear feet, 6′ height $3,500 – $9,000
Full fence with corners + gate $6,000 – $9,000

Every quote is a written price before we start. You’ll see line items for demo, footing, block, reinforcement, and cap, not a lump sum with a wink. Our workmanship carries a 365-day guarantee from the completion date: if something fails in that window, we return and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, stated plainly.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely do a few things: check for visible cracks, mark where the wall is out of plumb with a level, and note whether water pools at the base after rain. What you shouldn’t DIY is demo’ing a failed Tremron fence section or resetting a gate post. A 6-foot concrete block wall section weighs hundreds of pounds, and when a bond beam lets go, that weight can come down in one piece. We’ve watched homeowners try to take out “just one block” and end up with a wall in their lap.

If the wall is leaning more than an inch or the gate post moves when you push it, call us at (254) 269-5071. We’ll send a crew lead who knows Tremron block specifically, and you’ll know their name and photo before they knock on your door. That’s the Threshold Standard, and we’ve held to it since 2004.
