Jerith Fence Installation: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
Jerith fence installation in San Antonio typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a complete residential job, with partial repairs and section replacements falling on the lower end of that range depending on footage and post condition. We keep Jerith-compatible posts, rails, and pickets on our trucks, and we can usually match an existing Jerith model the same day we look at it. Most owners call us after a line-post shifts in our clay-heavy soil, or after a gate section starts dragging because the hinge post has leaned out of plumb. You’ll know it when you see it: the gate stops latching, the pickets start rubbing, and the top rail takes on a visible dip.
That dip is rarely the aluminum’s fault. Jerith builds residential aluminum fence sections that hold up well against Texas sun and humidity, but the posts and footings are only as good as the ground they sit in. San Antonio’s expansive clay moves with every wet-dry cycle, and that movement works posts loose over time. If one section is leaning, the fix is usually at the footing, not the section itself.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

We work on the full Jerith residential aluminum line, including the Statesville, Brookhaven, and The Heritage series, along with their ornamental steel options. Jerith section heights in San Antonio backyards are typically 48, 54, or 60 inches, and the picket spacing differs by series: the Statesville runs closer picket spacing for privacy screening, while The Heritage has a more open, traditional look. The easiest way to identify your model is to check the manufacturer tag on the inside of a gate frame or on the end of a top rail. No tag? Measure the picket width and the space between pickets. Those two numbers get us to the right replacement fast.
Jerith makes their own line of aluminum posts and matching finials, and for most repairs we recommend OEM Jerith parts because the powder-coat finish and picket profile have to match what’s already standing. There are quality aftermarket pickets that can work on straight section swaps, but if the color needs to blend with a ten-year-old fence, OEM is the safer call. We’re an independent service provider, not a Jerith dealer or affiliate, and we’ll tell you plainly when an aftermarket part will save you money without showing.

Signs Your Jerith Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate dragging or not latching. The hinge post has tilted, usually because the footing was poured too shallow or the soil shifted under it. The fix is resetting the post, not adjusting the latch a dozen times.
- Top rail sag between posts. Jerith sections are engineered to span without sagging, so a visible dip usually means the rail was cut too long or a support post has settled. We check the post before we order anything.
- Wobble in a section when you push on it. Loose or stripped screws where the section brackets meet the post. In San Antonio, the bigger culprit is often a post that looks fine above ground but has rotted or rusted at the soil line.
- White chalky film on pickets or rails. This is powder-coat oxidation from years of sun exposure. It’s cosmetic at first, but once the coating fails, the aluminum underneath starts to pit. Sections can be touched up, but badly oxidized panels are usually cheaper to replace.
- Pickets pulling loose at the bottom rail. The factory press-fit or screw connection has worked free through repeated heat expansion. Individual pickets can be resecured, but if half the section is loose, you’re past patch work.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Jerith fence installation in San Antonio, expect $3,500 to $9,000 installed. A typical 150-linear-foot backyard with one gate and standard 54-inch Statesville sections lands around $5,500 to $7,000. Partial work costs less: a single gate rebuild with new posts usually runs $800 to $1,500, and a section replacement with reset posts runs $250 to $400 per eight-foot section, materials included.
What drives the range? Post condition. If the original posts are solid and plumb, we can reuse them and your cost drops. If they’re rusted, leaning, or set in crumbling concrete, every post gets dug out, re-footed, and set new. We pour footings to depth for San Antonio clay, which means below the active movement zone so the fence doesn’t repeat the original failure. Every Jerith installation we do comes with a written price before we start and our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we fix it at no cost.

You can safely handle a few things yourself: tightening loose section screws, clearing dirt away from post bases, and hosing down a chalky finish to see how bad the oxidation really is. Those are inspection tasks, and they’re worth doing before you spend any money.
What we don’t recommend is digging out and resetting a gate post on your own. Jerith gates are deceptively heavy, and a post set without proper bracing will drift within a month. If the post leans into your gate’s swing path, you’re looking at a twisted hinge, a broken latch, and a gate that won’t close against the San Antonio wind. Call us at (254) 269-5071 and we’ll come look at it. Estimates are free, and you’ll get a written number before any work begins.
FAQs

A properly installed Jerith fence with concrete footings below the clay movement zone should last 30 to 40 years in San Antonio, with the powder-coat finish holding for 20 to 25 of those before it starts to oxidize. The weak point isn’t the aluminum, it’s the post footing: shallow posts might start leaning within five years of our heavy wet-dry cycles. Call (254) 269-5071 if you’re seeing early lean and we’ll tell you whether the posts can be saved.
A leaning post can usually be reset if the post itself is still straight and rust-free; we excavate the old footing, brace the post plumb, and pour a new concrete collar to correct depth. If the post is bent, rusted through, or cracked at the base, replacement is the only reliable fix. We’ll show you the post after we pull it so you can see exactly what we saw.
Most section replacements in San Antonio take half a day once we have the matching Jerith parts on hand, including digging and setting new post footings. A full backyard installation with multiple gates usually takes one to two days. You’ll have a written schedule before we start, and a live person answers the phone if you need to check anything while we’re on site.
We keep common Jerith-compatible posts, rail brackets, pickets, and gate hardware on our trucks, so most standard repairs can be completed on the first visit. For specialty colors or The Heritage series profiles, we order direct, which typically adds two to three business days. We’ll tell you which situation applies before you commit to anything.
