Grohe Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If your Grohe driveway or paver installation has a failed part, we can match it, source it, and install it correctly the first time. Typical parts-and-labor for Grohe-compatible driveway and paver repairs in San Antonio runs $250 to $1,800 depending on what failed, and most swaps take half a day to a full day once the part is in hand. You’ll usually notice the problem as a paver that’s sunk, shifted, or cracked, a drain grate that’s loose, or a surface that pools water where it used to shed it cleanly.
Quick note before we go further: Mason Remodeling Co San Antonio is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Grohe, but we work with their driveway and paver components regularly and keep the common failure parts in stock or available within a day or two through our supply partners.
Which Grohe Models This Applies To

Grohe’s driveway and hardscape line isn’t a single product family the way their faucets are. What most San Antonio homeowners actually have is a paver system installed with Grohe-branded drainage channels, edge restraints, or jointing materials, or a paver surface laid over a Grohe-compatible base system. The part that fails is almost never the paver itself. It’s the drainage channel, the edge restraint, or the sand joint that’s given out. Identifying the right replacement starts with the stamped code on the underside of any Grohe component you can lift out, plus a measurement of the channel width in millimeters. Grohe drainage channels typically run 100mm, 150mm, or 200mm wide, and matching that width is non-negotiable. An aftermarket channel that’s 5mm off will not seat properly and will fail again within a season.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Grohe’s own brand channels and grates are cast to tighter tolerances and carry a longer material warranty. A quality aftermarket equivalent can save 15 to 30 percent, but only if it’s the same width, depth, and load rating. Driveway channels need a load class that handles vehicle weight, not foot traffic. We’ll match that spec for you and tell you plainly if the aftermarket option is a smart save or a false economy.

Signs Your Grohe Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pools against the garage door after rain. The drainage channel is clogged past recovery or the channel body has cracked below grade. You’re not seeing a paver problem. You’re seeing a drainage failure, and the fix is replacing the channel run, not re-sloping the pavers.
- One paver sits a half-inch lower than its neighbors. The sand joint beneath it has washed out, likely because an edge restraint let go and water got under the whole section. In San Antonio’s flash-rain cycles, this spreads fast if it’s not addressed.
- You can rock a paver back and forth with your foot. The base under that paver has lost compaction or the jointing sand has eroded. Each rain event makes it worse, and a loose paver in a driveway will crack under tire load eventually.
- The edge of the driveway is spreading outward. The Grohe edge restraint has pulled free or was never pinned properly. That’s the part that keeps the whole field locked together. Once it goes, the pavers start walking.
- Grates over the channel are bent, rattling, or won’t sit flush. A bent grate transfers load into the channel walls and cracks them. Replace the grate early and the channel survives. Wait, and you’re replacing both.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Grohe-compatible driveway and paver component repairs in San Antonio, here’s what you can expect:
- Drainage channel or grate replacement: $250 to $700 per section, including removal of the failed part, fresh channel bedding, and re-setting the pavers around it.
- Edge restraint replacement and re-pinning: $400 to $900 depending on linear feet and whether we need to pull and re-lay the border course.
- Paver re-leveling and joint sand replacement for a typical driveway section: $500 to $1,200 for a 200 to 400 square foot area.
- Full paver driveway repair that requires partial or full base re-compaction: $1,200 to $1,800 on the smaller end, scaling up if the failed area is large.
What drives the range is access, how much of the base has failed, and whether the existing parts are salvageable. Every quote from us is a written line-item price before we start, and the work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not right within a year, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do the diagnostic part yourself: note where water pools, mark which pavers move, and check whether any edge restraint is visible or broken. What you shouldn’t tackle alone is pulling up driveway pavers in San Antonio. Driveways take vehicle load, which means the base and the jointing have to be re-compacted correctly or the repair fails as soon as a car rolls over it. A paver that’s removed and re-set on an uncompacted base is worse than the one you started with, because now it’s loose and you’ve broken the joint lock with its neighbors.

FAQs

Well-installed concrete pavers over a properly compacted base routinely last 25 to 40 years in San Antonio, but the drainage channels and edge restraints around them may need replacement every 10 to 15 years due to our heat cycles and flash rain. The paver is rarely what fails first. Call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll tell you honestly which part of your system has reached the end of its service life.
A single cracked paver can be replaced without touching the rest of the driveway, but a sunken paver means the base beneath it has failed, and that needs re-compaction before a new paver goes in. Replacing the paver without fixing the base just gives you a new paver that sinks again. We’ll give you a written price for the correct repair, so you know exactly what you’re paying before any work starts.
A drainage channel or edge restraint replacement on a typical San Antonio driveway takes half a day to a full day, including re-bedding and re-setting the surrounding pavers. If the base has failed over a larger area, that may extend to two days. We’ll give you a realistic timeline in your written quote.
We keep the most common failure parts in stock, including 100mm and 150mm drainage channels, grates, and edge restraints, and can source anything else through our supply partners within a day or two in most cases. Mason Remodeling Co San Antonio also stocks parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone installations. Call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll confirm availability for your specific Grohe component.
