CGI Construction in San Antonio, TX | Mason Remodeling Co San Antonio

We provide independent CGI sales, service, and installation across San Antonio, and we do it without factory affiliation. What makes our CGI work here different is simple: we know the clay. San Antonio sits on the Balcones Escarpment’s downdropped side, so the same CGI window can rack 3/8 inch out of square in Alamo Ranch and stay dead plumb in Terrell Hills. That local knowledge changes how we diagnose, reset, and seal every frame. Call (254) 269-5071 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you exactly what’s happening with your windows before you spend a dollar.

Why San Antonio Residents Choose Us for CGI Service

A remodeled primary suite with built-in wardrobes and a window seat

CGI windows and doors are built for hurricane zones, which means they’re overbuilt for most of Texas, and that’s a good thing. The frames are heavy, the laminated glass is thick, and the hardware is serious. But all of that engineering still has to sit on San Antonio soil, and that’s where most out-of-town or factory-only advice falls short. We’ve been working San Antonio jobs for years, everything from gut renovations near the King William Historic District to straightforward kitchen rebuilds in quiet neighborhoods across the north side. CGI sales & service is a core part of what we do, and Isaac Pruett, our owner, learned construction fundamentals at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending two decades swinging hammers across the Southwest. He and the crew know which CGI details hold up under a hundred-degree August and which ones need a different approach entirely.

We’re an independent CGI service provider. We are not authorized by the manufacturer, and we don’t pretend to be. What we are is local, familiar with the exact product lines San Antonio homeowners already have, and committed to using genuine CGI replacement parts whenever they’re available locally. When you call, a live person answers. Every time. Not a call tree, not a voicemail loop. You’ll get a written price before any work starts, a written guarantee when the job is done, and the name and photo of the technician coming to your door before they arrive. That’s the Threshold Standard, and we’ve held to it since 2004.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in San Antonio

  • Post-tension slab movement wracking window frames. The ‘Texas doughnut’ ranch homes built across the north and west sides of San Antonio sit on post-tension slabs. When the expansive clay beneath them shrinks in a flash drought, the slab moves and the CGI frame twists with it. We see mitered corners open at the meeting stiles and interlocking astragals bind until the sash won’t close.
  • UV-blasted sealant and corner leaks. San Antonio gets more than 100°F on a regular summer day, and the ultraviolet exposure here destroys exterior sealants faster than almost anywhere in the state. Around estate-series window perimeters, we inspect for chalked, cracked glazing tape at every heat check. That’s where the corner leaks start.
  • Alkaline soil eating threshold plates. The soil around San Antonio is naturally alkaline, and builders along parts of Loop 1604 often skimped on drip-edge clearance. Splash-back from that soil causes poultice corrosion and white oxide streaks on entry-level CGI threshold plates. It’s a slow failure that most people blame on bad paint.
  • Out-of-square sliders on pier-and-beam homes. In the older pier-and-beam belt of Terrell Hills and Alamo Heights, a 1950s house can drop an inch during a dry summer. Craftsman patio sliders go out of square when that happens. The screen track delaminates and the handle set over-travels. It’s not a slider problem; it’s a foundation problem that shows up first at the door.
  • Balance shoe failure in late summer. This is the one Isaac watches for every August. Dry-season clay shrinkage drops one end of a slab or pier-and-beam house, the CGI sash racks a fraction of an inch, and the balance shoes shear under the uneven load. The window still looks fine until you try to lift it and the whole sash binds.

CGI Service in San Antonio: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

A remodeled staircase with wood treads and a slim metal railing

San Antonio sits on the downdropped side of the Balcones Escarpment, which means the western suburbs get deeper, more expansive clay than the limestone-anchored east side. The same CGI window model can rack 3/8 inch out of square on one side of the city and stay dead plumb on the other. We’ve seen it repeatedly: an Estate single-hung off Culebra Road in Alamo Ranch binds in late August while an identical unit near Fort Sam Houston opens with two fingers year-round. That’s not a manufacturing defect. It’s differential soil movement, and it changes everything about how we diagnose and repair. Knowing which side of the escarpment your house sits on tells us whether we’re shimming for clay shrinkage, resetting a bowed frame, or chasing a sealant failure that has nothing to do with the structure. If your CGI windows are sticking, leaking, or just feel off, call (254) 269-5071 and tell us your neighborhood. We’ll probably already know what we’re going to find before we get there.

Out in Alamo Ranch, our crew pulled a set of CGI Estate single-hungs from a 1990s slab-on-grade house where late-August clay shrinkage had opened a 1/4-inch miter gap at the upper left corner and sheared two balance shoes. We reset the frames on shim packs sized to the owner’s post-tension layout, replaced the balances and dogears, and re-beaded the exterior perimeter with UV-stable sealant. No more dust streaks down the drywall, and the sashes glide even in the dry heat. That’s the difference between knowing CGI as a product and knowing it as it behaves on San Antonio lots.

CGI Models & Products We Service in San Antonio

We work on the complete CGI residential lineup: Sentinel Casement and Awning Windows, Estate Collection Single-Hung and Picture Windows, Craftsman Series Sliding Patio Doors, and 8400 Series Multi-Slide Doors. We use genuine CGI replacement weatherstripping, lock gear, and balances whenever we can source them locally, because that’s what holds up in our UV and dust. For out-of-production or long-lead parts, we’ll move to proven aftermarket equivalents rather than leave you waiting six weeks for a back-ordered balance. And on a 20-year-old CGI frame with a failed inert gas fill, we’ll honestly lay out the replacement math before you pay for a repair that’s just a band-aid. We stock the common wear parts San Antonio homeowners need, which means faster turnaround and fewer return trips. Browse San Antonio service area details for more on where we work.

Service Price Range
Impact Window Installation $8,000 – $25,000
Window Replacement $4,500 – $15,000
