Tremron Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you have a Tremron paver driveway, walkway, or patio in San Antonio, and pavers are cracking, sinking, shifting, or the sand joints are washing out, here’s the straight answer: we stock Tremron-compatible pavers and replacement materials, and a typical repair or replacement job runs $3,500 to $18,000 installed depending on square footage and what’s underneath. Most owners discover the problem after a heavy rain, when a low spot turns into a puddle, or when a paver finally cracks under a truck tire and the whole edge starts to wander. You don’t need to rip everything out. But you do need someone who knows how Tremron pavers are sized and laid, because guessing wrong on either one turns a $600 patch into a $6,000 redo.
We’re an independent San Antonio contractor, not a Tremron dealer or affiliate. That means we work on your side of the table: match the paver, fix the base, and tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or whether replacement is the smarter money.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron manufactures concrete pavers, retaining walls, and hardscape products in several Florida and Georgia plants, and their pavers show up all over San Antonio driveways, pool decks, and patios. The lines we see most often in this market are the Tremron Estate Stone, Olde Towne Cobble, and Mega Olde Towne series, along with the Tremron 60mm driveway-rated pavers. Here’s the gotcha most people don’t know: Tremron paver dimensions are nominal, not exact. A “4×8” Olde Towne Cobble isn’t 4.000 by 8.000 inches. It’s 3.875 by 7.875, and that sixteenth-inch difference compounds across a 20-foot driveway. If you buy a generic paver that’s “close” in size, by row twelve your joints are running crooked and the pattern looks drunk. For San Antonio jobs, we verify the actual paver dimensions with a tape measure before ordering anything.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: Tremron pavers are concrete, not proprietary composite. A quality 60mm concrete paver from a reputable manufacturer will often match in thickness and wear, but color matching is where aftermarket fails. Tremron’s color blends, especially the tumbled finishes, have specific pigment loads that shift batch to batch. For a patch job, we prefer OEM Tremron pavers or a documented color-matched equivalent from a paver supplier we’ve vetted. For a full replacement, we’ll show you both options and price them side by side so you decide with your eyes and your wallet, not a catalog photo.

Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- One paver is lower than its neighbors, and water pools there after rain. That’s almost always a base failure underneath, not a bad paver. In San Antonio’s clay-heavy soil, the limestone base or decomposed granite can wash out under a low spot, and the paver just follows it down.
- Sand joints are empty, and you can see the paver edges chipping. Joint sand locks pavers together. When it washes out, pavers start rubbing against each other. Every car tire that rolls across the edge is now acting like a chisel.
- You see a wavy line running through the center of the driveway. That’s usually a utility trench or irrigation line that was backfilled without proper compaction. The trench settles, and the pavers settle with it, in a strip you can trace from the street to the house.
- A paver cracked under where you park. Driveway-rated concrete pavers are 60mm thick (about 2 3/8 inches) for a reason. If a 60mm paver cracks, the base isn’t supporting it evenly underneath. That’s a point load on the paver, not a weak paver.
- The edge of the driveway is spreading outward, away from the field of pavers. Edge restraint failed or was never installed. Without a solid edge, the whole assembly slowly walks itself apart, starting at the sides.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For San Antonio jobs, paver driveway installation runs $7,000 to $18,000, and partial repairs or isolated replacements land in the $3,500 to $11,000 range depending on access, demo, base repair, and square footage. A straight patch job under 100 square feet, where the base is still sound and we’re only resetting pavers and re-sanding joints, typically falls toward the bottom of that range. A full teardown where we’re excavating failed base, hauling off old material, compacting fresh road base, and laying new pavers with edge restraint is at the top.
Every quote we write in San Antonio includes the pavers, the base material, the labor, the edge restraint, joint sand, and cleanup. What it doesn’t include are surprises. Our written price is delivered before any work starts, and it doesn’t change unless you change the scope. The work is covered by a written guarantee for 365 days from the completion date. If a paver shifts or a joint fails within that year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: locate the low spots, note where water pools, and look at the joint sand. What you shouldn’t do is start pulling pavers out of the middle of your driveway without knowing whether the base underneath is still sound, because once you break the interlock, the whole section can start drifting. In a San Antonio summer, that black paver surface gets hot enough to burn skin, and the pavers themselves are 30 to 40 pounds each. A full driveway has thousands of them. Most homeowners call us after spending a weekend discovering that resetting pavers is just heavy enough, just precise enough, and just hot enough to be miserable work.
If you’re seeing any of the symptoms above, call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll come out, tell you honestly whether it’s a repair or a replacement, and put the number in writing before anything gets touched.
FAQs

A properly installed Tremron paver driveway on a compacted base typically lasts 25 to 40 years in San Antonio, with the pavers themselves rarely failing before the base or edge restraint does. The extreme summer heat and occasional heavy rain events put more stress on joint sand and base material than on the concrete pavers themselves. If you’re losing joint sand every year, call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll diagnose whether it’s a drainage issue, a joint sand issue, or a base issue.
Yes, in most cases a cracked or sunken paver can be pulled, the base underneath re-leveled, and the same paver reset if it hasn’t broken into pieces, or a matched replacement set in if it has. The deciding factor is what’s happening under the paver, not the paver itself. A paver that cracked because of a soft base will crack again unless the base gets fixed. Call (254) 269-5071 for a free look at the specific spot.
A small repair under 100 square feet is usually done in a day, and a full driveway replacement in San Antonio typically runs three to five working days including demo, base compaction, paver installation, and final sand and compaction. Rain delays are the wildcard in spring and fall. We’ll give you a start date and a realistic completion window in writing before work begins.
We keep common Tremron-compatible pavers and edge restraint on hand for repair work, including the 60mm driveway-rated profiles we see most in San Antonio, and we can source specific Tremron colors and finishes from local paver supply yards within a few days when a job calls for an exact match. If you have a leftover paver from the original install, set it aside and we’ll match color and dimension from that. Call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll tell you what we have and what we’d need to order.
Know who’s coming, know what it costs, know it’s covered. That’s the whole job before the job starts.
