Silestone Bathroom Remodeling: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
A full Silestone bathroom remodel in San Antonio typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, depending on square footage, the number of surfaces, and whether we’re replacing the vanity top only or rebuilding the entire room around it. We stock Silestone-compatible slabs, prefabricated vanity tops, and shower surrounds, and our crew can usually start within a week of your written estimate. Most homeowners call us after noticing a hairline crack spreading from the sink cutout, a dull ring etched into the surface from hard water, or a shower threshold that’s started pulling away from the wall. San Antonio’s hard water and temperature swings between the bathroom’s humid mornings and dry afternoons accelerate wear on sealants and adhesives, which is why we see these specific failures more often here than in softer-water markets.
We’re an independent remodeling company, not affiliated with Silestone or its parent brand. What that means for you: we can source genuine Silestone slabs or recommend a compatible quartz alternative, then install it correctly the first time.
Which Silestone Models This Applies To

Silestone is a quartz surface, not a single product line, so the “model” that matters is the color series and the fabrication spec. The most common Silestone collections we install in San Antonio bathrooms are the Eternal series (classic whites and grays like Calacatta Gold and Pearl Jasmine), the Sunlit Days series (warm neutrals like Posidonia Green and Cincel Grey), and the Loft series (industrial tones like Camden and Concrete Pulse). Each slab is fabricated to order, which means the compatibility question isn’t about a model number, it’s about thickness, edge profile, and sink configuration.
Silestone slabs come in 2 cm and 3 cm thicknesses. For bathroom vanities, 2 cm is standard when paired with a plywood substrate; 3 cm can sit directly on the cabinet without reinforcement. If you’re replacing a failed Silestone top, measure the overhang at the front and sides, and check whether your current top is 2 cm or 3 cm by looking at the edge profile anywhere it’s exposed. Undermount sinks require the slab to be cut and polished at the fabrication shop, never on-site, which is a common gotcha with discount installers who try to notch it after the fact. For aftermarket equivalents, we’ve had good results with MSI’s Q Premium Natural Quartz and Cambria, but the color-matching for Silestone’s Eternal Calacatta Gold is hard to beat with a generic white. If you’re replacing one surface in an existing bathroom, source from the same batch when possible, quartz pigments shift slightly between production runs.

Signs Your Silestone Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Hairline cracks radiating from the sink cutout or faucet holes. Quartz is 90% stone and 10% resin binder; when the resin degrades from repeated heat and moisture cycling, the weakest point is always the narrow material around a cutout. In San Antonio, where a bathroom can swing from 60°F at night to 85°F by noon in April, this cycling is relentless.
- Etching or dull rings around the faucet base or soap dispenser. Hard water mineral deposits bond to the surface and, over time, wear through the polished finish. This is surface damage, not structural, but once it spreads across a 40-square-foot vanity top, resurfacing often costs more than replacement in labor hours.
- Seam separation at the backsplash or side splash. The silicone and epoxy joints flex at different rates than the quartz slab, and San Antonio’s clay-heavy soil means slab foundations move more than homeowners expect. When a seam opens, water gets behind it and works its way into the cabinet below.
- Water staining at the shower threshold or niche shelf. Silestone is non-porous, but the grout lines and adhesive around it are not. If you see a dark halo forming where the quartz meets tile, the failure is in the install, not the material.
- Chipping along the front edge or corners. A dropped hair dryer or a sliding shower door handle can take a chunk out of a 2 cm edge. Small chips can be epoxied and polished invisibly; larger ones usually mean the overhang was cut too thin to start with.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we see in the San Antonio market for Silestone-specific bathroom work, installed:
- Single vanity Silestone top, 2 cm, undermount sink: $1,200 – $2,800
- Double vanity Silestone top, 3 cm, custom edge profile: $2,500 – $5,500
- Full bathroom remodel with Silestone vanity, Silestone shower walls, new fixtures, tile floor: $9,000 – $28,000
- Shower surround in Silestone (walls and threshold): $4,500 – $12,000
The range is driven by square footage, whether the slab needs fabrication for an undermount sink, the edge profile you choose (eased, bevel, or mitered waterfall edges add $300 – $900), and whether the cabinet below is being reused or replaced. Every quote we write is a fixed price with a line-item breakdown: material cost, fabrication, delivery, install, and haul-away of the old top. That price doesn’t change unless you change the scope. We pull the permit when required, and the work is covered under our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails within a year of completion, we fix it at no cost.
DIY or Call Us?
Quartz is heavy. A standard 61-inch double vanity top in 3 cm Silestone weighs 180 to 240 pounds, and setting it onto a cabinet without cracking the slab or the cabinet requires two people, shims, and a level of patience most homeowners don’t budget for after work on a Saturday. You can safely check your current top for the telltale signs above, measure the thickness and overhang, and clear the cabinet below so we can inspect it. What you shouldn’t do is attempt to remove a cracked undermount top yourself. The epoxy holding it to the sink rim is load-bearing, and once you start prying, the slab can split unpredictably. A flying piece of 2 cm quartz will take a chunk out of the floor, the wall, or you.
If the damage is cosmetic and you’re unsure whether it warrants replacement, call us at (254) 269-5071 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a repairable chip or a reseal job, and if it needs a full replacement, we’ll give you a written price before anyone shows up with a tool bag.
FAQs

In a properly installed San Antonio bathroom, a Silestone top should last 20 to 30 years without structural failure. The weak points are the seams and the sealant around sinks and backsplashes, which typically need redoing every 5 to 10 years depending on water exposure and how often the bathroom runs humid. Surface etching from hard water can appear within 2 to 3 years if you’re not wiping the top dry after each use.
Hairline cracks in non-load-bearing areas can sometimes be injected with color-matched epoxy and polished to near-invisibility, but cracks that run through a sink cutout or a faucet hole are not repairable in any lasting way. The crack will spread as the material expands and contracts, and any repair we do there would be a temporary bandage. Call (254) 269-5071 and we’ll give you a straight answer about which category yours falls into before you spend money on either option.
A single vanity top replacement takes one day: we remove the old top, check the cabinet level, and set the new slab. A full bathroom remodel with Silestone surfaces takes 2 to 4 weeks from demo to final caulk, depending on whether the shower pan and plumbing move. The fabrication shop needs 3 to 7 business days to cut and polish your slab once we’ve taken final measurements, and we schedule that first so there’s no gap where your bathroom sits unusable.
We hold accounts with San Antonio slab distributors and can source most Silestone colors within a week, including the Eternal and Sunlit Days series. If you want a color we don’t currently have on order, the distributor lead time is usually 5 to 10 business days. We also install Cambria, Caesarstone, and compatible quartz alternatives if you want a specific look at a different price point. Kohler sinks and faucets and KraftMaid vanities are other brands we regularly pair with Silestone tops.
Know who’s coming, know what it costs, know it’s covered. That’s the whole job before the job starts. Call (254) 269-5071 for a free estimate on your Silestone bathroom remodel, and we’ll send a written price before anyone sets foot in your house.
